Now Hiring: Membership Services Program Manager

The Kansas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (KAAP) envisions a world where all children experience optimal physical, mental, emotional, and social health.

With 450 pediatrician and pediatric resident members, we focus on infant, child, and adolescent care, empowering our members through training, peer connections, education, quality improvement, and other special projects. Together, we advocate for children and families, helping Kansas children grow up healthy, secure, resilient, and with a strong belief in their future.

We are seeking a full-time employee to join our team as the Membership Services Program Manager. This is a remote position, but you must live in Kansas.

Position Overview

The Membership Services Program Manager will lead the chapter’s Membership Services initiatives, including professional education and training program, membership recruitment and retention efforts, and the Kansas Maternal and Child Health Council. Additionally, they will work closely with the Executive Director to write grants, reports, and legislative testimony. This position requires flexibility and adaptability in managing these diverse areas. Close collaboration with fellow team members is integral. Key Responsibilities

Professional Development

  • Oversee the planning, scheduling, execution, and evaluation of professional education programs and training events.
  • Staff the KAAP Professional Education Committee, which is led by the KAAP President-Elect.
  • Work closely with the Outreach and Event Coordinator to:
    • Plan logistical arrangements.
    • Ensure successful application of continuing medical and nursing education credits.
  • Leverage technology tools and platforms to facilitate accessible, efficient, and effective learning experiences.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulation and accreditation requirements ensuring that educational programs meet necessary standards and certifications.
  • With the Executive Director, develop and manage budgets for professional education and training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the marketing contractor to effectively promote the events and maximize participation.

Membership Recruitment and Retention

  • Staff the KAAP Membership Committee and the Early Career Physician Committee.
  • Execute strategies to attract new and former members, and onboard new members.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance member satisfaction and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach and Event Coordinator to provide networking opportunities.
  • Work with the marketing contractor to rebuild the KAAP website.
  • Work with the marketing contractor to disseminate communication materials and communicate the value of KAAP membership.

Kansas Maternal and Child Health Council (KMCHC)

  • Coordinate the Kansas Maternal and Child Health Coalition.
  • Lead the KMCHC Planning Committee to plan the KMCHC quarterly meeting.
  • Work closely with the Outreach and Event Coordinator to execute logistical arrangements for the two in-person and two virtual KMCHC meetings.
  • Support KMCHC membership, including maintenance of membership roster, processing of member applications, and orienting new KMCHC members.
  • Train KMCHC Domain Work Group facilitators and recorders.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the KAAP grant writing team.
  • Work with the Executive Director and the KAAP Public Policy Committee to write testimony for legislative hearings and other policy-related committees.
  • Collaborate and support other KAAP team members as they complete their responsibilities.
  • Additional duties as identified.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two years experience in managing professional education/training programs, association membership services, public health or health care projects or related efforts.
  • Familiarity with pediatric healthcare.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and other relevant software.
