Dr. Cara Hoffart is a pediatric rheumatologist and the Medical Director of the Rehabilitation for Amplified Pain Syndromes (RAPS) Program at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Dr. Hoffart completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy followed by her rheumatology fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Hoffart returned to Children’s Mercy in 2012 to develop an interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation program for adolescents debilitated by chronic pain, which is the only program of its kind in the region. The RAPS Program helps children with chronic pain reclaim their lives through an innovative functional approach.
