HB2578 would allow chiropractors to return injured student athletes to play.

Interstate Medical Licensure Compact
HB 2456 establishes the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact.

Tanning Bed usage in children and adolescents
HB 2369 prohibits individuals under the age of 18 in Kansas from using indoor tanning facilities.  KAAP provided written testimony in favor of this bill. The bill passed out of Health and Human Services and is exempt.

Pharmacists Administer Vaccines
HB 2646 would allow pharmacists to administer vaccines.

Step Therapy for Medicaid
SB 341 allows for the use of “step therapy” for Medicaid recipients.

Bridge to Healthy Kansas
SB 371/HB 2633 is the Bridge to Healthy Kansas Medicaid expansion plan introduced by KHA.

Scope of Practice for APRNs and Midwives
HB 2280 is an effort by APRNs and Midwives to enhance their scope of practice to include independent practice without physician oversight.

Governor’s Budget Plan
HB 2577 and SB 389 reviews the Governor’s proposed budget.  This budget eliminates the CIF (Children’s Initiative Fund) by sweeping $57 million into the State General Fund.

Medical Marijuana
HB 2049 supports the use of Hemp oil to treat certain forms of intractable seizures. The bill also includes language concerning penalties for marijuana possession and details on the manufacture of cannabinoid preparations and their distribution.
