Dr. Dummula is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Kansas School of Medicine. He graduated from Gandhi Medical College in India and completed his fellowship training in Neonatology at The New York Medical College-Westchester Medical Center before moving to Kansas City in 2010. He is currently working as a neonatologist at the Children’s Mercy Hospital and holds dual faculty appointments at the KU and UMKC schools of medicine. Dr. Dummula’s academic focus is on neonatal brain injury with a specific interest in hypoxic brain injury, intraventricular hemorrhage, and functional outcomes in prematurely born infants. He is currently the site PI for the Eat, Sleep, and Console study at KU Hospital, which aims to improve the early clinical care of infants with in-utero exposure to opioids.
