TAP-TAM has grown to include 150 active sites in 47 counties to date, with new sites completing training each month. TAP-TAM provides an avenue for medical providers to educate caregivers and impact child health within the home by increasing the opportunity for a literacy-rich environment.
Hoxie Medical Clinic, a participating TAP-TAM clinic, states, “TAP-TAM allows us to provide books to children that receive medical services at our clinic. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) it is our mission to be able to provide services to those that are uninsured or underinsured, so to be able to have access to materials to provide these children makes a significant impact on the resources that we are able to provide.”
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” February 27th begins our annual Dr. Seuss Celebration. TAP-TAM sites will hand out Dr. Seuss books, fun paper hats, coloring pages, crayons, and stickers to patients receiving well-child visits. We are looking forward to a fun opportunity to celebrate literacy and the power of knowledge to impact a child’s future.
