The 2019-2020 Kansas Pediatric Foundation annual report is now available to view at kansaspediatricfoundation.org. Since 2004, our mission has been to connect with individuals and organizations who share our commitment for a healthy and meaningful life for our children and adolescents in Kansas. These important collaborations have allowed KPF to offer Kansas Kids Fund grants to KAAP members, put over 1,100,000 books into the hands of Kansas kids through Turn a Page. Touch a Mind.® (TAP-TAM), and continue to support Kansas KidLink, our children’s mental health initiative.
This year, the TAP-TAM program added 13 new sites and currently has over 700 participating physicians and medical providers in 135 practices and clinics. These physicians and other medical providers will be handing out over 135,000 books to Kansas children at their well-child visits over the next year.
This year’s Kansas Kids Fund – Pediatricians in Action grantee, Dr. Kari Harris, is collaborating with local school nurses to encourage proper handwashing in Wichita. With schools starting for the year, we look forward to hearing more about this project and the impact of this collaboration. The Kansas Kids Fund was also able to provide KAAP members access to CME webinars at no charge after the Progress in Pediatrics – Spring 2020 meeting was changed to a virtual format.
Thank you to each individual and organization who contributed to the Kansas Pediatric Foundation this year to support child health in Kansas!
