Dr. Katherine Melhorn is board-certified pediatrician in General Pediatrics and Child Abuse Pediatrics and a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the AAP Section on Child Abuse and Neglect. In her role as a Child Abuse Pediatrician, she provides patient care, consultation, testimony and education throughout the state in the areas of child physical and sexual abuse and child neglect evaluation, investigation and medical management. As a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics with the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita, Dr. Melhorn participates in teaching residents and medical students in the areas of child abuse and neglect, along with supervising clinical care in the residency clinic. She is a member of the State Child Death Review Board and a member of the Board of Directors for the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County.
