As an ICS ID/DD Specialist with Comcare Children’s, Kasey works with children who have mental health and ID/DD diagnoses. She connects families to providers for additional community support while providing case management services for mental health. She has worked with ID/DD adults and children for over 17 years starting as a direct support staff in a group home for adults, working with children with severe behavioral issues in the home and school, and now working with dual-diagnosis children building and utilizing coping skills in the home, school, and community settings. She provides goal-directed, medically necessary case management services and support to children with severe emotional disturbance. She provides case management using identified and accepted methods to remediate symptoms of mental illness and/or improve emotional and functional well-being. She conducts risk assessments as needed to address the safety of clients. She is an advocate for dual-diagnosis children to get needed services in the community.
