This Workshop is designed to accommodate the continuing educational needs of practicing primary care physicians, residents in training, and other health care professionals. Courses will provide information on screening tools for autism, steps for ASD/ADD diagnosis, common medical issues with ASD/ID/DD, psychiatric comorbidities, education and guidance for adolescence to adulthood transition, self-injury in young children, applying ASD/ID training.

Objectives:
- Describe effective methods for screening and early identification of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in primary care.
- Determine next steps for patient care while waiting for their ASD/ADD diagnosis
- Identify and manage common co-occuring medical conditions in children and adolescents with ASD/ID/DD
- Psychiatric Comorbidities through Childhood and Adolescence
- Provide education and guidance to ASD/ID/DD patients and their families as they transition from adolescence to adulthood.
- Better identify and manage self injurious behavior in young children
