Dr. Jennifer Schurman is a pediatric psychologist and Professor of Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Dr. Schurman is the current Associate Division Director for Innovation and Integrated Care and Section Chief of Psychology within the Division of Gastroenterology, and has been Co-Director of the Abdominal Pain Program at Children’s Mercy since 2003. She has published and spoken extensively on disorders of gut-brain interaction associated with pain, as well as on more recent work with rumination disorder within this population, and is a nationally recognized expert on interdisciplinary care of pediatric GI conditions.
