Following medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC-SOM), Dr. Mary Anne Jackson completed residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center where she was recognized with the Samuel Dalinsky Memorial Award as the outstanding graduating resident. She completed infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of Texas-Southwestern. Board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases, she has been a member of the faculty at Children’s Mercy Hospital since 1984 where she is currently Division Director of Infectious Diseases. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the Infectious Disease Society of America and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society as well as a member of the American Pediatric Society, the Society of Pediatric Research and the Academic Pediatric Association. Dr. Jackson’s research focuses on reducing hospital acquired infection, judicious use of antibiotics, treatment of antibiotic resistant infection and vaccine implementation and education.
