Dr. Babalola Faseru is an Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Preventive Medicine & Public Health and the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is also the Consultant Medical Epidemiologist at the Bureau of Health Promotion, Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Dr. Faseru’s scholarly activities are focused on examining behavioral, genetic and environmental determinants of persistent smoking and smoking-related health disparities among understudied/underserved populations. He is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialists Trainer and leads the quality improvement of the University of Kansas smoking cessation service (UKANQuit). He is an Associate Editor of Substance Abuse Journal and a leader in the Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco (SRNT). He received Excellence in Public Health Teaching award at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2011 and 2014.
