This is the time of year when we are reminded to count our blessings. I am thankful this year for KAAP members who support the work of the Chapter. I get to see the impact made through advocacy, programs, and partnerships that would not happen without our members. We are becoming the “go-to” organization at the state level when topics related to child health and pediatrics come up.
KAAP members are the experts in child health, and when you share your collective voice, it is powerful and respected. Our legislative efforts in 2019 were boosted by an increase in work with our lobbyist, which was very well received by legislators. I encourage you to follow our advocacy work by reading the weekly Legislative Updates during the legislative session and joining our Public Policy Committee led by Dena Hubbard, MD.
If there is something the Chapter can do to support your work at your practice, don’t hesitate to reach out to me. We are here to support you with payment issues, educational support, and much more. We have several opportunities to be involved in the Chapter, and I would love to help plug you in when you are ready. Have a wonderful holiday season!
