The American Academy of Pediatrics’ Kansas and Missouri Chapters extend a warm invitation to all members, residents, and medical students to a special reception on August 31, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, at Charlie’s House on 2425 Campbell Street, Kansas City, MO. This unique event provides an opportunity to connect with Dr. Benjamin Hoffman, the President-elect of the AAP. Dr. Hoffman, a respected figure in the field, will share his visionary insights, welcome your valuable input, and foster meaningful networking among fellow members. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Although the event is free, advance registration is requested. You may register here.
Renowned for his expertise and advocacy in child safety, Dr. Hoffman serves as a distinguished professor of pediatrics at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) School of Medicine. Furthermore, he holds pivotal roles as the Medical Director of OHSU’s Tom Sargent Safety Center and the Director of the Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs.
The event will be held at Charlie’s House, a safety demonstration house built in honor of Charlie Horn, a 2-year-old Kansas City boy, was killed when he attempted to climb a 30″ dresser in his home. The house is designed to look like a home and features a room-by-room tour with interactive features to communicate the importance of childproofing a home.
We invite you to this exceptional occasion, engage with Dr. Hoffman, and make connections that stand to enrich your professional journey.
