Understanding disparities that exist for Kansas kids is imperative to the way we provide care. Here, you will learn about the high rate of infant mortality in Kansas, the disparities faced – especially between racial/ethnic groups – and how to follow evidence-based practices to reduce risk.

This event is led by Cari Ahlers-Schmidt, PhD, Research Professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita and the director of the Research Division in the Department of Pediatrics. She is also the director of the Center for Research for Infant Birth and Survival (CRIBS), whose mission is to reduce infant mortality through innovative research, implementation networks and addressing disparities.
