It takes a team with the coordinated, comprehensive medical response to protect Kansas children from abuse and neglect. In collaboration with Board-certified Child Abuse Pediatricians in Kansas, Child Abuse Review and Evaluation (CARE) Providers are specially trained to recognize abusive injuries and provide a medical evaluation for children under five years of age when abuse is suspected.
CARE Provider Training
We would like to have a CARE provider in your community! CARE providers are trained to provide a comprehensive child abuse exam. Led by Board-certified Child Abuse Pediatricians, the two-day training is open to any physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner in the state of Kansas.
At the training, attendees will learn how to perform a CARE exam and how to become part of the CARE Network.
The training is free and includes CME/CNE, hotel room for attendees more than 30 miles away from the training, meals and mileage reimbursement.
