Child Development

Developmental screening is a process that helps identify children early so that they can receive services.  All children should be screened so that services can be given in the most timely fashion.  This allows the child to have the best chance to regain any milestones that they have missed.”

Project Launch

Logo_project launchIn 2015, KAAP conducted in office trainings to promote developmental screening, developmental screening for social emotional and developmental screening for autism (ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE).  Over 200 pediatric providers, nurses and other health care providers were educated on the importance of screening and early referral services.  Funding for these trainings was provided by United Methodist Health Ministry Fund.

I was pleasantly surprised how smooth it went implementing the ASQ in our office.  I noticed there were more referrals made and better acceptance of referrals by parents with children needing using the ASQ.”
