The Kansas Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (KAAP) Annual Progress in Pediatrics Planning Committee invites pediatricians, fellows, residents, medical students, pediatric nurse practitioners and other pediatric healthcare providers to share their expertise in delivering pediatric care in primary care and other health care settings via a poster session during the Spring 2024 KAAP Progress in Pediatrics Meeting.
Abstracts should focus on topics of relevance and interest for clinical pediatric practice.
There is no fee for abstract submissions. However, if accepted you are required to attend the conference on Friday, April 26, 2024. All applicants must either be submitted or endorsed by a pediatrician or a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Abstracts will be accepted for display in the poster session to be held on Friday, April 26 at the Spring 2024 KAAP Progress in Pediatrics Meeting at the Sheraton Overland Park Conference Center in Overland Park, KS.
Submission Details & Deadline
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Friday, March 29, 2024. Applications and abstracts must be submitted on the online form.
Residents, medical students, and other students in pediatric health sciences are encouraged to submit abstracts developed for other educational opportunities. KAAP does not require that they only be presented at this conference.
Acceptance & Notification
The Spring 2024 KAAP Progress in Pediatrics Planning Committee will review and select posters for the session and for the oral presentation. Conference staff will notify authors of abstract acceptance no later than April 15, 2024. If there is a change in the contact information related to presenting author or any information regarding abstract acceptance, submitters should send an e-mail containing the new contact information to Denae Hart at firstname.lastname@example.org. Authors who will be unable to present their papers personally—either during the oral presentation, if selected, or during the allotted time for the poster session, should specifically name a proxy who will be able to both describe the poster project in detail and respond to questions that follow.
Each poster will have an area of approximately 48 inches vertical and 92 inches horizontal. Conference staff will provide pushpins to mount posters in the assigned area.
Conference staff will provide the individuals listed as the primary contacts for accepted abstracts with specific details related to poster board size and other logistical details upon acceptance.
The committee will review submissions and select one abstract for a brief oral presentation (15 minutes) during the conference (Friday, April 26, 2024, 12:50-1:50pm).
The abstract accepted for oral presentation during the conference will also be asked to send a PowerPoint™ presentation of no more than ten slides to email@example.com by April 12, 2024, to be prepared as a handout for the session.
