The Kansas Immunization Program (KIP) has offered enrolled Vaccine for Children (VFC) providers’ access to federally purchased and state funded vaccines for eligible children from birth through 18 years of age along with limited adult vaccine since 1994. Earlier this year, Garden City, Kansas experienced a measles outbreak. At the conclusion of the outbreak, there were 6 confirmed cases of Measles. Three of these were children and three were adults. Two of the adults contracted the measles from being exposed to the original cases. One adult and one child were hospitalized.
